Film Olympiad is the Olympiad for Filmmakers, the Olympiad for You.

Filmmaking is day-dream-making. At the Film Olympiad, we want to see your dreams come alive — to empathise with your heroes, laugh with your jokes, cry with your drama, and get exhilarated by your pathos.

Film Olympiad was created to fill a missing space in cinematic history. Drawing inspiration from the grand traditions of artistic competitions throughout history and Ancient Greece, Film Olympiad offers filmmakers a set of innovations many of which are unique and unprecedented.

Film Olympiad is the first and only International Film Festival,

• to publish the rating of ALL films, providing transparency and valuable feedback

• to run from top to bottom inspired with an sports-like competition system, potentially exciting to mass audiences beyond the cinephiles, and adding even more transparency

• to hold the iconic brand name of Film Olympiad, awarding the prestigious Film Olympiad Medals

Past Olympiad films have featured internationally acclaimed artists, including Zoe Saldana, Kevin Bacon, Colman Domingo, Lily Gladstone, Bryan Cranston, Diego Calva, and more. Yet at its core, Film Olympiad is about every filmmaker having a chance to be recognized for their work, regardless of budget or previous fame.

Founded in 2021 by Ioannis Makro from Greece, Film Olympiad aims to create history, one step at a time.

The thousands filmmakers for 106 countries, who have embraced our innovative efforts, are a strong testimony to this vision.

Our motto is "Φώς, Ρυθμός, Πάθος" - Light, Rhythm, Pathos – three elements which we consider the minimum necessary to create a great film. Three elements which are a strong symbols of the concept of Film Olympiad and of Greece which hosts festive celebration of films from all around the world.
