Echoing Moodboards
Seven painters are invited to each present one of their works.
At the same time, each artist selects a film from world cinema to enter into dialogue with their painting — sometimes through a clear connection, other times through a more abstract resonance.
The festival aims to showcase the work of these artists to a wide and diverse audience: from devoted cinephiles and filmmakers, to people who would never happen to visit a gallery.
Additionally, through the work of these artists — some younger and with rising voices, others already with an important trajectory — we bring the worlds of painting and cinema into closer conversation here in Greece, reflecting the dynamic exchanges that already take place abroad. After all, the art of painting has always inspired directors such as Sergei Eisenstein, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, being essential to their work.
The Film Olympiad Art Exposition is curated by Maria Xypolopoulou and Irini Bazara (Co-Curator). The vision and concept are created by Ioannis Makro, Founder & Chairman of the Film Olympiad.
